Configure the Jira - Create an issue action

  1. Add the action to the workflow and open the action configuration panel. For more information, see Add, rename, and copy actions.

  2. Select a Connection. If you do not have a connection, see Add a connection.
  1. Select an Accessible resource.
  2. Select a Project name.
  3. Select an Issue type.
  4. Type a Summary.
  5. Enter other details for the issue you want to create.
  6. Create or select a variable for the output.

(Unlabeled) Accessible resource The accessible resource in Jira. Select the resource from the drop-down list or contact your Atlassian administrator to request the resource from Atlassian. If using a variable, use the cloud ID.
You can use the Get accessible resources data source in a form drop-down control to retrieve the id.

The priority you want to assign to the issue you want to create in Jira, for example highest.

This connector uses the standard Jira issue template. You can create custom fields and remove some template fields. If this field is removed in Jira you get the following error message when attempting to configure this field: {"errorMessages":[],"errors":{"priority":"Field 'priority' cannot be set. It is not on the appropriate screen, or unknown."}}.

If you get this error, re-create the missing field in Jira.

Output Issue Stores the result of the action as an object. The following values are returned:
  • ID: (Text) The unique ID of the issue.
  • Key: (Text) The unique key of the issue.
  • URL: (Text) The full URL link to the issue starting with http:// or https://.
